The Hosiery Capital, has become a Fashion and Shopping City. You can add to your wardrobe in the famous factory shops, whose label Fashion
from Troyes guarantees choice, quality and the best possible price.
Since it was the seat of the Counts of Champagne in the Middle Ages, the city of Troyes has grown harmoniously into what is sometimes described as its Champagne cork shape. Its streets are rich in magnificent buildings and monuments of the Medieval and Renaissance periods, all lovingly protected and restored. In our times a major effort has been made to fill the city with flower gardens, earning it the status of a 3-star flower city of France. The pride of the Aube department, Troyes is known as the holy city of stained glass, with its 9000 m2 of stained glass
windows dating from the 13th to the 19th century, making it the greatest ensemble of its kind in Europe. The heart of the old city is filled with 16th century half-timbered houses with wooden corbelled balconies and private mansions. Wander around the town to see the famous Ruelle des Chats (Cats’ Alley) in the Saint Jean Quarter, which was named because the roofs are so close together that the cats leaped from one grain loft to the other to hunt for mice.
This afternoon return to Paris where you will stay for one night on a bed & breakfast basis.
